Creative Commons Google Image Search Assistant

Google Advanced Search offers options to only search documents that are licensed under the Creative Commons. Unfortunately, however, they seem to have omitted that feature from the Google Images search. This tool helps to add that back in.

Enter in a search term below and hit Search. A Google Images search will open in a new window with your search results:

The images returned should include those that can both be modified and used commercially.

Please note, if you change the search phrase in the Google Search box on Google Images, and search again, then the URL parameters that restrict the search to only show works under the Creative Commons license will be lost.

By default the tool will also open up a search window on Flickr.com for the same phrase. If you do not want to open the Flickr window, then uncheck the box below:
